“Na infância criava pequenos tesouros com objectos de alto valor afectivo. Colocava-os em caixas de doces e enterrava-os na fazenda com a expectativa de que, ao serem descobertos, criassem uma espécie de mistério sobre os elementos e sobre as intenções da pessoa que os colocara. Sentia uma necessidade de partilha para além da presença física. Um sentimento de que a comunicação simbólica poderia ligar um ser a outro de forma mais profunda que a comunicação das palavras.”

Fátima Spínola apresenta a 1ª fase da intervenção Urban Treasures, dia 1 de Junho, em vários espaços do Chiado, no âmbito do Projecto Chiado: efervescência urbana, artística e literária de um lugar.
Com base no imaginário infantil da criação de tesouros com carácter íntimo recheei trinta carteiras que se relacionam com os vários espaços onde foram abandonadas. Os objectos, os desenhos, as gravuras, falam de vivências pessoais que o espaço Chiado moldou com a sua história.
O vínculo da carteira à identidade e ao dinheiro fez dela o objecto ideal de partilha. Entrego-me através delas sem saber o que trarão às pessoas que as encontrarem. Através do blog http://urban-treasures.blogspot.com, partilhem o que sentiram quando encontraram esta carteira.

"In my childhood I have created small treasures with objects of high emotional value. I put them in candy boxes and buried them into the farm with the expectation that, when discovered, they could create some kind of mystery about the elements and the intentions about who had place them. I felt I needed to share it beyond a physical presence. A feeling that the symbolic communication could be
a link to another and deepest way than just the word’s communication."

Fatima Spínola presents the first stage of the intervention Urban Treasures, June 1st, in several areas of Chiado, under
the project Chiado: efervescência urbana, artística e literária de um lugar.
Based on the child's imagination of intimate treasure criations I pocked thirty wallets that are related to the places where they were abandoned. The objects, drawings, engravings, spoke about personal experiences that the Chiado area
has molded with it’s history.
